Crochet Washing Info

  • Hand Wash Always Recommended:

Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water. Avoid hot water as it can cause fibres to shrink or become misshapen. Add a small amount of mild detergent or a wool wash product for Wool and Mohair.

  • Gentle Agitation:

Submerge the crocheted item in the soapy water. Gently agitate the water with your hands to clean the item. Do not wring, twist, or scrub as this can damage the fibers and shape.

  • Rinse Thoroughly:

Drain the soapy water and refill the basin with clean, lukewarm water. Swish the item gently to remove soap residue. Repeat as necessary until the water runs clear.

  • Remove Excess Water:

Lay a clean, dry towel flat and place the crocheted item on top. Roll the towel and item together gently to press out excess water. Do not wring or twist.

  • Reshape and Dry Flat:

Lay another dry towel on a flat surface. Reshape the crocheted item to its original dimensions and lay it flat on the towel to dry. Avoid hanging as this can stretch and distort the item.

Allow to air dry completely. This may take several hours to a few days depending on the thickness and type of yarn.

  • My Product Contains Metal Work/ Chains:

If your crochet item contains any additional metal/chain accessories, avoid moisture at all costs to prevent rusting and other damage to the product.

Crochet Care Info

  • Storage:

Store crocheted items in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Use breathable storage bags or containers to allow air circulation and prevent mildew.

  • Avoid Pilling:

Handle with care to avoid friction that causes pilling. If pilling occurs, use a fabric shaver or carefully cut with scissors.

  • Preventing Snags:

Be cautious of jewelry, zippers, and rough surfaces that can snag the fibers.

If a snag occurs, use a crochet hook to pull the loose thread back into place from the inside.

  • Ironing:

Ironing is generally not recommended. If necessary, use the lowest heat setting and place a cloth between the iron and the crocheted item.

Steam blocking is preferable to achieve desired shape and size.

  • Repairs:

Fix any loose ends or damaged areas promptly to prevent further unraveling. Do Not pull loose ends.

If damage occurs please contact me with info & pictures of the damage and I can let you know wether I am able to repair the product.

By following these instructions, you can ensure the longevity and beauty of your crocheted products. Proper care will keep them looking new and feeling cozy for years to come.
